VISA opens blockchain-based payment platform
VISA, 블록체인 기반 지급결제 플랫폼 오픈 (2019.06.12)
VISA has opened Visa B2B Connect, a block-chain payment platform. This enables financial institutions to quickly process international payments on behalf of corporate customers.
According to Reuters, Visa has launched a full-fledged VISA B2B Connect service and has begun to spread its services. By the end of this year, it is aiming to advance into more than 90 markets.
VISA officials said the service was launched in order to “simplify international payments by allowing direct transactions by banks.”
Through this project, VISA announced its intention to expand its settlement area in earnest beyond the credit card settlement business. Kevin Phalen, head of Visa Business Solutions, said, “We are working to solve major industry challenges by developing a solution that will enable direct interbank transactions.”
‘VISA B2B Connect’ is partly based on block chain technology based on the Linux Foundation’s hypervisor. This is because Hyper-Reseer systems can transmit more information than other systems. “The network itself is not a complete distributed led system, but we chose to send more information than any system as a means of payment,” Kevin said.
The VISA initially attempted to build a block-chain start-up and platform called “Chain”, but eventually it was known to use the Linux Foundation’s hypervisor technology.
