SONY Music, decided to adopt Amazon Managed Blockchain for information processing of music copyright.
SONY Music Entertainment(SME) revealed that they will utilize Amazon Managed Blockchain being provided by Amazon Web Service(AWS) for information processing of music copyright and etc.
SONY Music Entertainment(SME) said that they aim to reduce rights processing cost increasing by every year by the use of blockchain technology to efficiently process music rights information.
Amazon Managed Blockchain is a platform that manages copyright information and other music rights through a blockchain based on Hyperledger or Ethereum, and has already been launched in Japan in May.
Sony Music said it decided to adopt Amazon Managed Blockchain in consideration of security, availability, flexibility, and cost of development.
Because most of existing large IT companies are earnestly participating in the blockchain service business(BaaS – Blockchain as a Service) in the recent, there is a movement in the direction of concerns about blockchain and crypto currency industry .
